& Memory Enhancer

For many decades, direct application of "mind's eye" memory improvement techniques has been key in helping to reach numerous personal and professional life goals, such as...

  • gain a 1st-Class Hon's degree

  • hold top exec - director roles

  • lead major gov & priv  org's

  • keynote speaker nat. conferences

  • give 1-2 hour talks without notes

  • recall MANY long shopping lists

  • recently - for health and for fun - quote scores of Pi decimal places and simplify algorithms of Rubik's cube...

Many years of presenting to boards, clients and larger audiences were followed up with internal and informal training; clients or colleagues would often ask, “How the heck did you remember all that?” Many would also add, "You should run a memory training school!" But it wasn't until a personal medical crisis (as per my story below) prompted - even catapulted - me into launching the unique memory training venture "An Elephant Brain."

Seriously... if you have any notion, want or need to improve your memory, or if you think it's getting worse... just know that we're not about cute marketing or catch-phrases. This is about you taking control. As you will see from "my story" below it wasn't always a bed of roses. I had to fight back from medical crises... TWICE! The good news is, all the tools I use are available to you today so, anyone can benefit.

Short training sessions in-house or online are offered to help people in all walks and in all stages of life, so that they too may benefit from learning the techniques which have carried me for decades, especially this year. We're here to help others maximize their own potential and possibly change their lives via newly acquired memory recall skills.

Serendipity
& Memory
Journey

In February 2023 I suffered a TIA - a transient ischemic attack, or mini stroke. With all the signs and symptoms of a full stroke - muscle weakness on one side, face droop and complete loss of speech - but lasting just a few minutes, this was a very scary experience. But the worst part for me in the weeks that followed… dizziness, brain-fog, confusion and short-term memory loss - I could hardly remember a half a dozen items on a shopping list - and then the constant fear I would not recover.

So stuck mostly at home and feeling sorry for myself, I dived right into the subject... nothing like a personal medical emergency to trigger an obsession and research blitz! And so began an online frenzy as I soaked up everything I could on stroke recovery and latest research. As it was, I came out of that with mixed feelings, the two most prominent... FEAR, that it might happen again at any time… and HOPE, encouraged by the extent of progress in the field.

That said, whilst there was a wealth of positive stories on how others overcame their varying post-stroke issues… the largest and lingering negative concern for many – myself included - related to short-term memory loss.  I totally understood this…because I was right there with them. It was at that point I made a decision, "No, that really doesn’t suit me!" I had been here before!**  "I CAN BEAT THIS!!"

[**A motorbike accident as a youth left me with a fractured skull (no helmet) and trauma-induced memory issues, which was really annoying at that time as in the middle of studying to get into university. Luckily, I found a memory training technique being used in the USA which I tried and adapted to suit my own needs… and it worked! Over time, this was to become a real life-changer - life-saver even - as it was to become a major part of my success throughout university and indeed throughout the whole and every aspect of my professional career.]

So fast forward back to 2023… here was I again in brain fog mode. But I was lucky this time… I already had a technique and system to fall back on (which sadly most people do not) and so I really focussed my efforts in those weeks after my TIA to help accelerate my own recovery. And as fate would have it, this was to project me into a long-awaited, important new venture.

Within a month of my TIA, I had gone from aimlessly wandering around the shops and squinting at meaningless shopping lists, to getting my mind back into shape. I worked first at my lists and soon found I could easily remember 10, 20, 30 items and more (I can remember lists of hundreds) just like before.

A key finding of my post-stroke research, I should add, was the importance of physical and mental activity as early and as much as possible;  physical exercise and muscle contraction help maximize oxygen flow to the brain and stimulate new neuron growth, while mental activity helps fire up old and new neural pathways.

In March, I picked up a Rubik’s cube for the first time; soon I was able to solve and then adapt my own "mind's eye" imaging to simplfy end-algorithms for easier completion… as well as other challenges, such as recalling Pi digits and card decks.

As you can see, I didn’t stop there; I launched An Elephant Brain to help, not only stroke recovery individuals but also, as per the "Who" and "Why" pages here, many other areas of life, but with special focus on business, health and education.

What is
An Elephant
Brain?

What is
Memtrics?

An Elephant Brain is a unique memory improvement training program, designed to be integrated into schools, colleges, workplaces and care settings to suit.

The program is based on proven memory techniques which help participants develop and enhance their own "Minds Eye" Association and Visualisation skill set. With the right  approach and a little practice it is possible for most people to not just improve but to drastically excel at the way they remember things.

So, while most people might think that great memory recall belongs in the realms of the gifted or lucky few, with the techniques taught here it is a skill that can be mastered by anyone wishing or needing to substantially improve the quality of their work and life....

An Elephant Brain memory improvement training was devised following long-term personal interest in helping many others over time, young and old, overcome memory difficulties. At a time now, when so much information may be just a click away from being learned or lost, we are seeing an ever-increasing need to sustain strong memory recall in our business and personal lives.

Note: it is well known that short term memory issues are common following T.I.A. or stroke; moreover, data is now emerging of short term memory problems post-covid. As such, research is ongoing as we work on programs to offer help in all these areas...

The goal of An Elephant Brain via this training is to help as many people as we can improve the quality of their work and lives via a dramatically improved memory.
